4 weeks later

Yes, that's right it's now the end of the Portraiture Course I've been covering with Cheryl of www.feelgoodphots.com
It's been a busy few weeks and at time I felt that I wasn't going to manage the weekly assignments in time with this last week being the worse one of all. The weather wasn't great and my little girlies had gone off on holiday but the boys stepped in and got an A* for their effort, they were so good bless them.

Some images from week 3 and the finalthe action shots from week 4.

Portraiture 2010 Week 2

This weeks assignment was groups with particular thoughts going into posture/positioning.
I wasn't too sure that I was going to be able to take any photos this week as all my " models" were busy. I was saved at the last minute though when Nick my son in law said he would pop up with the girls on the Thursday morning.....plenty of time we just had to upload the images before midninght on Thursday night. Nothing like leaving something to the last minute !!!

These are the three images I submitted.

Having taken the shots I wanted, Emily then wanted one on her own so I very quickly took this one of her.

Portraiture 2010 Course Week 1

At the moment I'm doing the Portraiture 2010 Course on line run by Cheryl Johnson of FeelGoodphotos.com
I love taking photos of " people" so this course is right up my street.
Week 1 - the assignment was " The Money Shot" so if you're a professional photographer these type of shots are the ones to bring in the money. Cute children are probably top of the list for these shots. Here's a selection of photos I took to fulfill the assignment.

Christmas Course.

In the run up to Christmas I did an on-line course called the 12 Days of Christmas with Cheryl Johnson of Feel Good Photos...Cheryl UK on UK Scrappers.
To date I've done 5 of her courses and attended a " Bootcamp" retreat with her last May which was a fab week-end.
Anyhow this latest course was free. A very generous gesture from Cheryl. I learnt so much on the course about taking Christmas photos, from adjusting the white balance for indoor photos to getting better Christmas Lights photos and even turning my tree lights to look like stars with a tea strainer!!. Here is a selection of the photos I took over the 12 days.I've still to do some of the assignment and will read up on it and I'll be well prepared for next Christmas !

The heart and the star were taken my two granddaughters with a torch, just like the way they do it at the beginning of " X Factor" and the smilie face was mine. It's not quite so easy as it sounds to take a shot in total darkness waving a torch around trying to get a shape !!!!!

Must keep up to date !

I really must get to grips with this photography blog as well as my craft blog but where can I buy more time? LOL

My eldest grand-daughter was a bridesmaid recently for her Godmother who also happens to be her mother's( my youngest daughter) best friend. I gave my daughter a rough idea of what kind of photos I wanted her to take so that I could scrap a few of them. Not many turned up with the spec I gave her but hey ho I have to get on with what I've got !
My grandaughter & the little pageboy ( who was the bride's Godson)were the only children at the wedding. His mum took the last image, which I just love for some reason, they look so sweet bless them walking away into the distance. They were walking back to the car to be taken home while their parents were staying for the evening celebrations.
The rest of the images are some that my daughter took with her little point & shoot.I converted the first image to black & white in photoshop......you'll get the message quite quickly that I love black & white images.

At Last !

Well as you can see it's been some while since I set this blog up with every intention of posting my photography. Things didn't go according to plan, not from the photography angle I might add but from the time aspect. Life just seem to get in the way sometimes.

Here are a few images that I took last week. My eldest daughter wanted photographs of the boys to print on a canvas for their Daddy's 40th birthday which is on Wednesday. So last Tuesday I set everything up in the conservatory ( there's good natural light in there)and they arrived ! From the moment Charlie ( 2 years old) arrived it was pretty obvious that he had no intention of having his photo taken!!

After much bribing, trickery and everything else we tried, I did manage to get a few decent shots, about 5 from a total of 149 images !!!! and Sian also managed to get her two canvases printed and they look fab.

I've converted some of them to Black & White. I have a weakness for black & white photographs !
